Let me start by saying, these dogs are walking billboards! (I got Ken's # years ago after seeing the first black GSD I've ever seen- happy I followed up!) Kenneth and his family are very experienced in breeding East German Working Line Shepherds with PURE BLACK and Sable coats. These pure black (with NO white or any blemishes) are extremely rare and truly a REMARKABLE sight to see. They come with AKC paperwork and are definitely show quality. Coat and everything is BEAUTIFUL. I can't take my dog on walks without being stopped and asked for a good pet OR PHOTO which we love. Our boy "Ace" is extremely intelligent- it's clear they breed for temperament. Since the day he came home he has always been the obedient and LOVING GSD he has continued to grow into. He understood the concept of having to go potty outside LITERALLY after his second walk outside when he came home- it just took me a bit to learn his queues and how he communicates with me. He learns things after one or two attempts and I am NOT a trainer and he has only been to 3 sessions before I realized he is far more advanced than the lessons we were covering as I took time to watch YouTube videos on self training. Even the trainer said he had to work with some dogs (even other GSD) for MONTHS before getting that level of obedience back when he was 4 months. He is about 6 months now at the time I am writing this. He was born with children in the home and therefore is great with my toddler (4yo now) and even other kids we don't know and he is great in public/large crowds. I can tell he looks at it as "work" when he is in crowds- it's like he turns on a switch and acts even more mature and obedient. He has been everywhere from the beach to a recording studio to my work office in Midtown Manhattan and is perfect in every setting. This is my first dog ever and I attribute my luck with this pup ALL to the breeders and genetics. Couldn't have brought home a better dog.
